Inspiration: Captivated by the lush and vibrant flora of this tropical paradise, I envisioned a piece of Trapunto Art Glass that would immortalize the beauty of the banana plant. The banana plant, with its grandiose leaves and rich hues, offers a perfect muse for artistic expression. Trapunto, an art form celebrated for its intricate designs and three-dimensional effects, brings out the depth and texture of the subject matter. By combining the traditional technique of Trapunto with the dynamic medium of glass, the artist can create a piece that is not only visually striking but also rich in tactile appeal. Imagine the play of light and shadow as it filters through the translucent glass, accentuating the lush greens of the leaves and the warm yellows of the bananas. Each vein and curve of the plant would be meticulously crafted, creating a sense of movement and life within the glass. This request from our client is not just a testament to the natural beauty of the Seychelles but also an invitation to explore the boundaries of artistic innovation. The resulting piece of Trapunto Art Glass promises to be a captivating blend of traditional artistry and contemporary creativity, inspired by the serene yet vibrant landscape of the Seychelles.

Summary of comments made by visitors to exhibition kindly sponsored by Air Seychelles: I appreciate all the elements, but the greens and golds within the glass, along with the intricate pattern, truly captivate me. I'm constantly on the lookout for interesting pieces, and this lovely picture certainly stands out. The craftsmanship involved in creating the glass is impressive, and it has a dreamlike quality that appeals to my eye. Its versatility allows it to be placed in any room, adding charm wherever it goes. The banana leaf immediately draws me in, especially since yellow is my favorite color. The striking contrast between the background and foreground is intriguing, and I can't help but want to reach out and touch it. The leaf representation and colors remind me of flora, and the gold accents add a sparkle that catches the eye, reminiscent of a Christmas tree with its festive shimmer. This vibrant design brings a sense of joy and reminds me of happy times. The artwork also evokes thoughts of the Garden of Eden with its bold, fresh colors and tree-like imagery. The clarity of the background enhances the vividness of the colors, creating an overall captivating and delightful piece. Trapunto Art Glass

Trapunto Art Glass uses the secretly guarded processes used by the Mesopotamians (1650BC.) to make glass vessels which contained expensive perfumes for the courts of the rich and powerful, and also for use in religious ceremonies. It is said to have mystical qualities and when combined with the Trapunto textile manipulation technique used in Medieval Times (1450AD.) an art form like no other is produced - ones which cannot be copied, or mass produced. Exhibition comments show that Trapunto Art Glass results in a very special personal experience often referred to as spiritual, tranquil or nostalgic thus relaxing the viewer and stimulating the imagination. Each piece of Trapunto Art Glass can take up to 3 months to complete and involves over 50 separate processes and is made to the highest quality standards often using precise hand dyed colour silks to create the experience. Inserted in each piece of Trapunto Art Glass is a hand stamped copper token indicating its uniqueness, providence and safeguarding investment.
